Gold Chinese Pandas are one of the worlds only bullion coins to change designs each year and the 2015 1 oz Gold Chinese Panda is no different. Since its original release in 1982, the Chinese Gold Panda Coin has become one of the most recognized pieces of currency, both in China and across the globe. It is composed of 1 troy ounce of .999 fine gold with a legal tender face value of 500 Yaun. It measures 32 mm in diameter and 2.70 mm in thickness.

  • These coins are available in brilliant uncirculated condition, encased in either a sealed protective coin capsule or sheets of 10 coins.
  • Contains 1 oz of .999 fine Gold.
  • Each coin comes sealed in the original plastic as issued directly from the People's Bank of China.
  • Obverse: Depicts the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests in the Temple of Heaven in Beijing encircled by the phrase "People's Republic of China" in Chinese closed off by the year of issue, 2015.
  • Reverse: Features a single playful panda munching on bamboo, resting against a wall of bamboo trees. Guaranteed by the People's Bank of China.

Features a single playful panda munching on bamboo, resting against a wall of bamboo trees.Guaranteed by the People's Bank of China. Prominently featured on the obverse of the coin will be China’s beloved panda. The design on the 2015 coin is similar to last year’s issue, featuring a single panda bear, however the weight and purity are absent from the coin’s face.

From the texture of the pandas’ soft fur to the details of their natural habitat, the Shenzhen-Guobao Mint of China has always rendered their designs with an exceptional degree of detail and will undoubtedly deliver the same level of artistry in this new design. Also inscribed on the obverse of the coin will be its denomination. The reverse side of the coin transports viewers from the pandas’ native habitat to the city of Beijing, with an uncanny rendition of China’s celebrated Temple of Heaven. This stunning replica captures every major architectural element of this religious landmark, including its three-tiered gable. Encircling this sacred temple is border of text, inscribed with the phrase, “People’s Republic of China” in Chinese and the mintage year of the coin.
