In 1875 the engraver Maarten Mauquoy opened a engraving workshop in Belgium.
His artistry was passed down, indeed enhanced, from generation to generation.
Mauquoys excellent reputation spread and was soon a attraction all over Europe.
This issue now is absolutely in the old tradition because every coin is revised by
hand after minting and so every coin is not like the other and the total weight
differs between 96 and 115 grams.
