The Wild Canada Series by the Royal Canadian Mint celebrates some of Canada’s most exotic and exciting wildlife. One such animal is the cougar, which is the largest feline in North America. It has been celebrated with the release of this 2017 coin, and it’s a product you’ll definitely want to add to your collection.
The first thing that makes this silver coin stand out is its extremely low mintage. The RCM will strike no more than 50,000, which means it won’t be long before this coin becomes a rarity. It contains a single troy ounce of premium grade silver with a purity of 99.99 percent, which is among the highest in the industry. The obverse side displays an image of Queen Elizabeth II, which is standard among Canadian coinage, while the reverse side depicts an image of a Maple Leaf.
While at first glance this coin may appear to be a part of the Canadian Maple Leaf series, if you look at the bottom of the reverse side you’ll see the cougar privy. This is the third release of the Wild Canada Series and the coin has a face value of $5 CAD.
