The Austrian Mint issued the first Gold Philharmonic coin in 1989, which was available in two sizes, ¼ and 1 troy ounce, each made from .9999 fine gold. Initially, the coins were struck having their denominations established in ATS (Austrian Schillings).

Later, in 2002, when the euro currency was adopted by the European Union, the face values of the coin were also changed in euros. A Silver Philharmonic coin was introduced by the mint in 2008, being struck from 1 oz. of .999 fine silver with a face value of 1.5 EUR. The coin came with a smooth edge rather than a reeded, as the Gold Philharmonic, being one of the top three best-sellers on the coin market in 2013.

The first Platinum Austrian Philharmonic was released in 2016, having a 100 EUR face value.

The Philharmonic Series is a sought after coin program, highly appreciated due to its constant reverse design celebrating the renowned Wiener Philharmoniker. This is why this thrilling 1 oz Austrian Platinum Philharmonic Coin BU is a treasured addition and a must-have investment for any passionate collector.

 Features of the coin:

  • Each coin made from 1 troy ounce of .9995 fine platinum
  • Issued with a 100 EUR face value and legal tender in Austria
  • The coin comes from the Austrian Mint in BU condition
  • Weight and purity assured by the Austrian Federal Government
