2020 marks the commencement of a new lunar almanac cycle with the year of the rat. To mark the start of the new cycle, The Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan proudly issues the 2020 Bhutan Lunar Rat coin as the fifth coin issue of the Bhutan Lunar and Attraction series.
DESIGN
Using elements of floral, leaves and clouds to portray the agile and adorable rat, the design artistically reflects the nature and mystical qualities of Bhutan, a country surrounded by the beauty of her floral and fauna. The reverse features the national emblem of the Kingdom of Bhutan in intricate engraving.
