The Niue Island Treasury has introduced a new series of coins which will showcase various European artistic styles which have emerged throughout the ages. This collection is called The Art That Changed the world, and emphasizes Romanesque Art and architecture.

About This Series

The Art That Changed the World Series will be struck by the Polish Mint, and Robert Kotowicz will be responsible for designing the art which appears on the coin’s face. He has chosen to utilize a design which features the shape of a diamond or square. The reverse of these coins displays an intricate carving, and the word “Romanesque Art” can be seen on some pieces. A total of 8 coins will be issued for this series and some of the art styles that will be featured include Mannerism, Classicism, Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance. Each coin will be produced in .999 fine silver.
