With the Treasures of the World Series, the Perth Mint has set out to commemorate gemstones which have been prized by various civilizations over the ages. These civilizations include the Persian, Egyptian and Mesoamerican cultures which prized gemstones such as turquoise.

About This Series

Each coin within this collection is struck with 1 ounce of pure silver. They are sold in proof quality and the reverse side of the coins is innovative, incorporating a circular shaped locket which holds the respective gemstone. Each coin features the inscription “Treasures of the World” and the coins are considered to be legal tender within Australia. Mintages for each coin are limited and the Perth Mint will only produce a maximum of 7500. The coins come in stunning packaging with lids made out of materials such as timber.
