Introducing the White Horse of Hanover

When Her Majesty The Queen was crowned queen on 2 June 1953, ten statues were created to form a guard of honour at the entrance to Westminster Abbey. The Queen’s Beasts are a visual history of Britain’s ruling dynasties. Their entwined symbolism charts the pivotal events and twists of fate that shaped the course of history. Guardians of the crown, they trace royal bloodlines from medieval times to the present day.

Reimagined on coins, The Queen’s Beasts Collection breathes new life into these majestic creatures that represent the British monarchy and the series continues with the eighth beast – the White Horse of Hanover. With roots in medieval times, the emblem of the white horse became part of Her Majesty The Queen’s ancestral story when George I was crowned. The coin is available in a range of precious metal Proof editions, plus a Brilliant Uncirculated version in an informative fold-out wallet.
