Located on a hill in Pasir Panjang of Singapore, Haw Par Villa was once known as Tiger Balm Gardens. Lovingly built by businessman Aw Boon Haw for his brother, Aw Boon Par, the park was named after the Tiger Balm medical ointment that the siblings’ father had created.

Haw Par Villa, an 8.5 hectare Asian cultural park in Singapore, is a repository of Chinese folklore and storied myths. It is well known for its vivid depictions of Chinese folklore, where visitors get to learn about the traditional Chinese virtues. The cultural park also houses many statues and dioramas that depict surreal scenes from legendary works of Chinese literature.
