2016 8 gram China Auspicious Culture - Fortune .999 Gold Proof Coin (NGC 69 UC Early Release)

This Proof Gold Fortune was issued by the People's Bank of China. It was struck at the Shenzhen Guobao Mint from .999 fine gold. It is the first issue, along with a silver counterpart, in a new China Gold Coin Incorporation Series called "Auspicious Culture." Mintage of the coin was limited to 30,000.
At the top of the obverse is the name of the issuing country, "People's Republic of China," inscribed in Chinese characters, while the year of issue, "2016," is inscribed at the bottom. The design is the national emblem of China. At the bottom is the Tienanmen Gate of the Forbidden City, where Mao proclaimed the foundation of the Republic. At the top is a large star which represents the Communist Party, along with four smaller stars, which represent the classes of Maoism.
On the reverse are lotus flowers and a koi carp. The face values of the coins 100 Yuan is inscribed below. To the left is a Chinese inscription that translates to "may every year end with plentiful surplus."
