Royal Canadian Mint
Similar to the Perth Mint, the Royal Canadian Mint served as a colonial branch of British Royal Mint when it was founded in 1908. Its earlier expertise included turning raw ore into fine gold bars during the Yukon and British Columbian gold rushes. In 1931, the mint was independent of the Royal Mint and named as Royal Canadian Mint. After crafting the commemorative coins for Canada’s 100th anniversary in 1967, the mint started to earn its reputation in commemorative coin design and production. Their award-winning coins feature many aspects of Canada national heritage including the ever-popular maple leaf, landmarks, historical figures and more. Apart from minting some of the finest collections of coin bullions, Canadian Mint has also won a number of prestigious awards including the first hologram coin and first colored coin via plasma technology.
