2018 1oz Australia Emu .9999 Silver Coin (NGC MS70 One of First 600 Struck)
The Australian Emu is a large flightless bird that can trot great distances. Although emus have feathers, they cannot fly because their wings are too small. Emus are found throughout Australia in almost all habitat types and they feed mainly on grass, flowers, seeds, fruits and insects. The emu is the second-largest living bird by height, after the Ostrich.
Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver, and issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 30,000 of the Australian Emu 2018 1oz Silver Bullion Coin.
The coin’s reverse depicts an Australian Emu on a landscape featuring foliage, grass and trees. The design also includes the inscription AUSTRALIAN EMU, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the 2018-year date and the weight and purity.
The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are shown on the coin’s obverse.
The Australian Emu 2018 1oz Silver Bullion Coin is presented in an individual acrylic capsule.
