Perth Mint Dragon Bar
The Perth Mint Dragon Rectangular Coin
Celebrating the powerful influence of the mythical dragon in Eastern culture, The Perth Mint introduced a Gold and Silver Precious Metals Rectangular Coin series that portrays a dramatic image of a dragon with a tightly curled body. Included in the design is The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The Divine Dragon
Depicted in serpentine form with piercing eyes, horns, whiskers, scales and sharp claws, dragons have been part of Eastern culture for thousands of years. Despite their fearsome appearance, they are revered as benevolent creatures with divine origins and regarded as omens of wealth, power, and good fortune.
The Perth Mint
The Perth Mint was founded in 1899 due to the discovery of gold deposits. In the British Empire, The Perth Mint was also the largest provider of gold sovereigns for quite some time. One of The Perth Mint’s greatest achievements in precious metals refining was the production of a gold-proof plate (13 troy ounces). The plate consisted of 999.999 gold parts per thousand and was even used by the London's Royal Mint as a benchmark for their minting standards. Today, Perth Mint is heavily involved in the design process of bullion coins and is a hot favorite among collectors and investors alike.
