Spock was born in 2230 on the planet Vulcan to Vulcan ambassador Sarek, and Amanda Grayson, a human teacher. Spock initially served as a Starfleet officer for several decades before going on to become a Federation ambassador. Proof Quality 99.9% Pure Silver The coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality. Star Trek Reverse Design The coin’s reverse portrays a colour image of the actor Leonard Nimoy (1931 – 2015) giving the Vulcan salute as Spock as he appeared in Star Trek, against a representation of the IDIC Vulcan symbol and the inscription SPOCK. The design also includes The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark, and the coin’s weight and fineness. Tuvalu Legal Tender The coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu and features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2015 year-date.
