2017 1 oz Cook Islands Marvel Spider-Man: Homecoming .9999 Gold Proof Coin

Few superheros have as many fans around the world as Spider-Man. This 1 oz. gold proof features a Spider-Man: Homecoming design, it is officially licensed by Marvel. Made of .999 fine gold, this coin was struck by Mayer Mint in Germany. It was issued by the Cook Islands. The artist who engraved this design is very well-known for his work with the U.S. Mint. Only 250 of these gold proofs will be minted. Spider-Man: Homecoming The Spider-Man design is on the obverse. This is the work of John Mercanti, retired 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. Spider-Man can be seen slinging web here as he swings forward. The background is filled with a large web. This side is inscribed with John Mercanti's initials, the name of the movie, the Marvel copyright, and the gold content. Like other coins issued by the Cook Islands, this one shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the reverse. The inscriptions here state the face value and date of issue. GEM Proof in original Government packaging This coin looks like it just left Mayer Mint. It's in GEM Proof condition and still inside its original packaging. The outer box that protects it features the same design that can be found on Spider-Man's costume. The original packaging also includes a certificate of authenticity.
